Publication Guidelines
Papers submitted for publication in the Journal must be original, unpublished, and exclusive, and their proposed topics must be consistent with the research lines established by ANEPE, without prejudice to any exceptions that the editor and editorial board may suggest to the President of the Council through the Executive Director of the Journal. In addition to originality, manuscripts must comply with the following substantive and formal requirements, which the author must observe and verify before uploading them to the platform:
Substantive requirements:
a. Provide a sworn statement confirming that the article is original and unpublished, not previously published or submitted elsewhere.
b. The editor may propose reissuing works for discussion, anthologies, or dissemination, subject to approval by the Advisory Council.
c. Translations or articles previously published in another language are not accepted (self-plagiarism).
d. The journal prioritizes topics aligned with its research lines available here.
e. The editor may propose high-quality manuscripts outside these lines for evaluation.
f. Accepted languages: Spanish, English, or Portuguese.
g. If interviews are used, informed consent must be attached.
h. Authors are solely responsible for the views expressed in their articles.
Formal requirements:
a. Structure: title, author’s name, abstract, keywords (semicolon separated), introduction, development, conclusions, references, and annexes if applicable.
b. Title in Spanish, English, and Portuguese.
c. Author’s name below the title, aligned left, with footnote including short bio, institution, country, degrees, contact, and ORCID.
d. If no affiliation, indicate “independent researcher” or equivalent.
e. Abstract and keywords in the three languages, 150–200 words, keywords separated by semicolons.
f. Keywords after each abstract.
g. Citation format: “Polít. estrateg. (En línea)”.
h. Length: 7,000–9,000 words, letter size, Arial 12, single-spaced.
i. Introduction must include context, problem, objectives, methodology, and findings.
j. Images, graphics, and photos: black and white for print, color for online, high resolution.
k. Do not use low-resolution internet images. Respect copyright.
l. Maps must be unrestricted; Chilean maps require authorization from DIFROL.
m. If physical material is sent, include its source.
n. The author must ensure the submission meets all requirements; the journal will verify upon receipt.
o. If any information is missing, the author will be informed and the article will not be entered into the database nor sent for review until all required information is complete.
