The Revista Política y Estrategia is a publication of the National Academy of Political and Strategic Studies. Founded in 1976 and published semiannually, it has a broad national and international reach, particularly in Ibero-America.

The journal aims to disseminate knowledge in the field of Security and Defense, contributing to reflection and debate on this key primary function of the State, while also serving as an important support for the academic training of professionals who will work in advising and managing this function.

Its thematic coverage includes all relevant and pertinent topics related to Security and Defense at the national, regional, and global levels. Among these are: threats to peace and security, political leadership of defense—including its regulatory framework and guiding public policies—strategy, geopolitics, intelligence, the Armed Forces and their development, transformations in the international landscape, international relations, and international law.

Política y Estrategia is addressed to government officials, members of the Armed Forces, Law Enforcement and Public Security, private sector professionals interested in these subjects, and the broader academic community specializing in security and defense issues.

The journal is published in both print and digital formats. For the digital version, the journal is hosted on the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, an open-source software for managing and publishing academic journals online. Developed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP), it allows the management of the entire editorial process—from article submission to publication, peer review, and online dissemination.
